Emotional vs Sacral Authority
Overview
Strategy is how your type enters life. Authority is how you decide. Sacral authority and Emotional authority are the two most common ways that decision gets made, and they do not feel alike. Sacral authority answers now, in the gut, to something real and present. Emotional authority has no truth in the now. Clarity is what remains after a wave.
They also do not belong to the same charts. Sacral authority exists only in Generators and Manifesting Generators, and only when the Solar Plexus is undefined. If the Solar Plexus is defined, Emotional authority outranks the Sacral even when the gut is loud. That rule is on the Emotional authority page, and it is the point people miss when they try to "trust their gut" on top of a defined emotional center. Your free chart names the authority in the same place it names the type.

A wave, or a yes-no in the body
Emotional authority lives in the Solar Plexus. The center moves in a wave: high, low, and the quieter point that is neither. The authority page says emotional spontaneity rarely works. A yes at the top of hope, or a no at the bottom of dread, is one frame of the movie. The practice it gives is concrete: sleep on a major decision, often somewhere in a day to three days, and watch the feeling move. Clarity feels peaceful and ordinary, not dramatic. There is no absolute certainty inside a single emotional moment.
Sacral authority lives in the defined Sacral, and only as a response. The page describes sounds and sensations: an "uh-huh" leaning yes, an "uhn-uhn" leaning no, energy rising or the belly going flat. It happens before the mind builds a case. It wants a real question, preferably yes or no, about something that is actually in front of you. Hypotheticals and five-year plans do not give it a clean signal. Once you commit, the same center supplies momentum that does not like to stop, which is why a mental yes is expensive.
When both centers are defined, the wave wins
This is the hierarchy, not a suggestion. The Emotional authority page says that if the Solar Plexus, the Spleen, and the Sacral are all defined, the splenic alert and the gut response may both be jumping. Emotional clarity still rules. You can notice the gut. You do not obey it until the wave has had its say.
So a Generator with a defined Solar Plexus is not a Sacral authority, even though the strategy is still to wait and respond. The response gets checked across time. People in this design often feel "betrayed" by a morning-after no. The page predicts that feeling: you agreed inside a mood, and the mood left. The correction is to stop agreeing at the peak. It is not to become a Sacral authority by effort.
Who never has which one
Projectors, Manifestors, and Reflectors do not have Sacral authority. Their Sacral is undefined. A strong bodily pull in those charts is not this authority. Projectors and Manifestors can have Emotional authority if the Solar Plexus is defined. Reflectors have Outer authority and wait about 28 days, which is longer than an emotional wave and is not the same mechanism. The authorities hub lists the other four: Splenic, Ego, Self-Projected, and Outer.
Sacral authority cannot appear in an emotional chart. If the Solar Plexus is defined, the label is Emotional even when you are a Generator who makes Sacral sounds. Read the authority line on the chart before you pick a practice. The wrong practice is noisy. A Sacral authority who "sleeps on it" for three days often talks themselves out of a clean gut no. An emotional authority who answers in the doorway often buys the high.
Strategy stays in the picture
Authority does not erase type. An Emotional Manifestor still informs before acting. They just do not inform a permanent decision from the top of the wave. An Emotional Projector still needs recognition and invitation. The wave decides whether the invitation is correct. It does not create the invitation.
A Sacral Generator still waits to respond. The gut is both the strategy's signal and the authority. A Manifesting Generator with Sacral authority still tests after the first yes. Emotional authority, if present, stretches that test across the wave instead of across one trip to the front door.
